Galvion is Hiring a Remote Corporate Security Officer

PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES

The Corporate Security Officer (CSO) will provide expertise, guidance and advice to the leadership team on all matters pertaining to informational and industrial security requirements, to specifically include US and select countries defense related standards, regulations and requirements.

This Corporate Security Officer serves as the point of contact for all corporate security concerns, and ensures security is perceived as a critical component of the business. This position requires attention to detail, program management and communication skills, technical understanding, professional judgment, and discretion.

The Corporate Security Officer is responsible for establishing and maintaining the Business Units’ industrial and physical security program and ensuring compliance to the SSA as part of Foreign, Ownership, and Control or Influence (FOCI) mitigation. The Corporate Security Officer should have in-depth knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual/32 CFR§117 (NISPOM) and experience with the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA).

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

People:

  • Serve as the CSO for key US Business Units and FSO for cleared facilities while overseeing the industrial security program across all global sites
  • Serve as POC for business unit-wide personnel security matters with DCSA
  • Provide clear guidance to company leadership and employees, and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as appropriate at all sites
  • Interface with prime contractors and government customers on security related issues

Process:

  • Prepare and maintain all documentation required to obtain and maintain Facility Clearances
  • Provide direct, hands-on management of key security and compliance programs to include ITAR, CUI, Classified, Government Furnished Equipment, CCG (Canada) and others
  • Develop and implement Insider Threat Program, serves as the Insider Threat Program Special Officer (ITPSO)
  • Develop and administer a comprehensive security education, training, and awareness program for both cleared and non-cleared personnel, to include Initial & Annual Security Refresher, Insider Threat Program, etc.
  • Manage the security aspects of various U.S. Government agencies’ classified programs
  • Obtain and maintain an NSA COMSEC account, serving as COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO)
  • Perform maintenance in Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
  • Prepare and review DD254s to ensure adherence to classified programs
  • Develop, implement and monitor for compliance with necessary security plans, e.g. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Electronics Communication Plan (ECP), Technology Control Plan (TCP),
  • Respond to emergency alarm calls off hours, as necessary
  • Process visits requests for personnel and international visit requests
  • Investigate and report security violations and incidents and work closely with Program Managers, employees and management to develop appropriate corrective actions
  • Perform required self-inspections of security program, identifying possible security deficiencies and developing/implementing corrective actions
  • Ensures up-to-date security knowledge through training, security meetings, and security-related memberships
  • Serves as direct interface with GSA for all sites, files GSA quarterly statistics and annual reports
  • Work closely with Information Technology/Assurance to ensure contractual Cybersecurity requirements are adhered to
  • Other duties as assigned

Performance:

  • Provide regular reporting and security activity overview to leadership.
  • Ensures up-to-date security knowledge through training, security meetings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 5-10 years industrial security experience with government contractor(s) preferred
  • 3 years of program/project management experience in role reporting out to leadership
  • FSO Certification
  • In-depth knowledge of the NISPOM / 32 CFR § 117, NIST 800-171 and CMMC guideline
  • Experience with Insider Threat Programs
  • Must have or be able to obtain a US Government secret clearance (Security clearances are granted to US Citizens)
  • Must be detail orientated and highly organized
  • Must be proficient in prioritizing and multi-tasking
  • Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships and consensus within an organizational climate of diverse operational activities and often-conflicting priorities
  • COMSEC program experience
  • Possesses basic knowledge of CUI regulations

Desired Skills:

  • Experience interfacing with DCSA, Government customers, and leadership
  • Ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures
  • Experience performing self-inspections and taking a leadership role in DCSA Vulnerability Assessments
  • Candidate will exhibit characteristics of a leader who is determined, results oriented, persuasive, and a strong communicator
  • Experience using DISS, NISS, eMASS and eQIP
  • Familiar with DCSA FOCI mitigation agreements (SSA, ECP, TCP, AOP, NID, etc.)
  • Basic experience with Export Control (EAR & ITAR)
  • Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and/or Information System Security Management (ISSM) experience a plus
  • Able to work independently with little guidance
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in teams with members from various disciplines
  • Comfortable interfacing with senior leadership/ownership

  • Office environment
  • Travel required between Galvion facilities, up to 30%
