Head Start Teacher (Ages 3-5)
As a Head Start Teacher, you will play a key role in fostering the educational, social, and emotional development of children ages 3-5 in a dynamic and supportive classroom environment. Your mission is to promote a positive climate for learning, nurture individual needs, and build a cohesive classroom community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a structured yet flexible environment that supports active learning and development.
- Implement age-appropriate teaching strategies and guidance techniques, as defined in CLASS.
- Assess children’s progress and create individualized learning and transition plans.
- Build strong, reciprocal relationships with parents and families through home visits and ongoing communication.
- Lead your teaching team, fostering collaboration, clear communication, and continuous professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with CACFP nutrition standards and encourage healthy eating habits.
- Collaborate with the Family Advocate, Head Start staff, and external agencies to support children’s holistic needs.
- Participate in IEP meetings, manage individualized Success Plans, and ensure all Head Start Performance Standards and program policies are met.
