The Small Business Administration (SBA) Commercial Lender is responsible for developing relationships with a network of financial professionals and other referral sources to identify prospects. Being an SBA Commercial Lenders requires engagement with business members and business prospects to ensure their ongoing needs are addressed and to understand the broader needs of the small business community.

Overview:
The Small Business Administration (SBA) Commercial Lender is responsible for developing relationships with a network of financial professionals and other referral sources to identify prospects. Being an SBA Commercial Lenders requires engagement with business members and business prospects to ensure their ongoing needs are addressed and to understand the broader needs of the small business community.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Screen and interview SBA loan applicants and make necessary field visits
- Collect and spread financial statements, review credit reports, appraisals and other required documents
- Underwrite and present SBA Loan transactions for credit union approval
- Prepare and submit SBA loan packages to respective SBA Officers for approval
- Respond and follow up on SBA District Officers’ questions and requests
- Monitor and manage loan portfolio
- Analyze and prepare loan servicing requests on a time-to-time basis
- Contact borrower for payment collection
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SBA products, rules, and regulations
- Establish operational processes that conform with SBA SOP guidelines
- Provides coaching, training, and development opportunities for Commercial Lending Officers
- Provides coaching, training, and development opportunities for Commercial Lending Officer
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred
- Minimum five years of experience in SBA Lending (7a, 504, SBA Express) required
- Interpersonal and customer service skills to provide an exceptional member experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with both members and internal team members in a professional manner
