Job Description
Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Mountain View, California, three times per week, at minimum.
The Role : As a Sr. Buyer you will be responsible for the purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and / or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and / or services. Responsible for actively participating in the development of commodity strategy, sourcing / negotiations, global / regional material budget execution, and collaboration with suppliers or internal partners. The work is of a sophisticated nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work, and judgment.
What You'll Do :
- Responsible for maintaining sourcing pipeline, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budget, and on-time metrics.
- Adhere to corporate and unit purchasing and accounting practices and procedures.
- Sourcing and Contracting Activities that include, but are not limited to :
- Sourcing event bid strategy & management.
- Bid analytics.
- Coordination and alignment of RFQ package components, including Terms & Conditions, SOR, technical documentation.
- Leadership sourcing recommendation / alignment.
- Management of sourcing documentation related to bid events in adherence to GM Audit Services.
- Cooperate with legal to negotiate special contract terms.
- Daily supplier interface activities on all commercial items.
- Support commercial budget activities.
- Support supplier management initiatives, including “Strategic Supplier Engagement.”
- Nurture relationships with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution.
- Perform rate management activities including spot buys, rate analysis, and supplier requests.
- Participate in supplier KPI reviews.
