We are currently seeking motivated candidates for an External Mortgage Originator. This position has the opportunity to earn commission pay.
Genisys CU is extremely member-focused and our Mortgage Originators are no different! Fostering an educational, informative, and supportive dialogue with prospective members during their purchase or refinance transaction is critical as well. The qualified applicant should possess a minimum of three years of lending and residential mortgage loan origination or equivalent experience, knowledge of state and federal lending regulations, and secondary market guidelines. NMLS License Required (cost covered by Genisys CU). Established relationships with realtors and other third parties in the industry are preferred but not required to apply for this position. The applicant is expected to have strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to promote a positive and productive team atmosphere, along with a high level of member service. Position Purpose:
Originate mortgage applications, prepare mortgage documents, and work with prospective members and the mortgage team to quickly process all applications, and develop realtor relationships.
Job Duties (include but not limited to):
Interview prospective members to determine eligibility for the various types of mortgage programs
Ability to explain all standard mortgage documents to the member
Review and analyze all documents submitted by prospective members at application
Soliciting new loan business through existing and/or future business relationships
Cross sell the Credit Union products and services to prospective members
Maintain timeliness and prompt turn-around time
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum of three years of lending and residential mortgage loan origination
Knowledge of state and federal lending regulations and secondary market guidelines
Established relationships with Realtors and other third parties in the industry preferred
Knowledge of determining credit worthiness preferred
Understanding of Credit Union philosophy and functions a plus
Skills/Abilities:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to build strong business relationships
Strong time management skills
Well organized and detail-oriented
