Responsibilities

Summary: This position provides participants with the tools and knowledge to prepare for successful community reentry through employment
curriculum and services. In addition, provides group facilitation in areas including cognitive self-change, social skills, problem
solving, relationships, and other related issues.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Facilitates delivery of cognitive behavioral curriculum in a group setting as needed.
* Maintains class rosters, attendance records, documentation of progress, and provides completion certificates for CIVIL
World and SKILLS program or other curriculum.
* Supports the assessment of participant needs and makes referrals to appropriate staff.
* Aids participants in planning and developing post-release plans and encourages them to assume the responsibility for
post-release behaviors and activities.
* Participates in weekly incentive events earned by the participants.
* Assists in the coordination of participant program schedules to ensure the criminogenic needs of the participants are met.
* Maintains Computer Lab area.
* Provides employment services to include resume writing, mock interviews, time management, and information on the
work environment.
* Ability to coordinate with outside employment resources.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) or more years of experience in guidance, counseling or job placement.
* Work experience may be substituted with a specialized degree or certification in the field of guidance, counseling, or
career development
* Familiar with community work force needs, public and private agencies, and employment services
* Ability to instruct
* Ability to maintain positive community relationships
* Ability to effectively interface with residents and staff
* Ability to motivate and create an atmosphere of enthusiasm toward work ethic
* Ability to express thoughts logically, in both written and verbal form using correct grammar
* Ability to demonstrate flexibility in order to perform a wide range of duties
* Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
