The BIM Technician is responsible for preparing 3D models for assigned projects.
Essential Functions
- Develop and manage 3D models for electrical systems using Revit, Navisworks and other BIM software.
- Conduct clash detection and provide solutions to minimize conflicts in the design and construction process.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including drawings, specifications and reports.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve the modeling process for the best results for our installation team.
- Understanding of electrical systems, construction process and industry standards.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with architects, engineers, project managers, owners, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and to manage multiple tasks and projects under constant deadlines.
- Works with Superintendents and Project Managers to create CAD/BIM designs when required.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment as well as in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise is to be expected during field visits.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, hourly position
Usual hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Some work outside of normal business hours may be required based on project needs.
Travel
Some travel between office and job locations is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- 5 years of progressive BIM/CAD experience – task related
- Working knowledge of CAD, Revit, CAD MEP and Navisworks.
- Must possess excellent computer skills
- Must have and maintain a clean, valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to stay focused for long periods of time.
