Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and equipment within the Gielow Pickles facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment, including inspections, adjustments, and part replacements to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Diagnose and resolve issues promptly to minimize production interruptions.
- Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment and machinery, including calibration and testing to ensure proper functionality.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status. Prepare and update maintenance logs and reports as required.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations. Identify and report potential hazards, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on equipment performance and suggesting enhancements to maintenance procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff, production teams, and management to address and resolve equipment issues and ensure seamless operations.
Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably within a manufacturing or food processing environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze problems, determine solutions, and implement repairs efficiently.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
