Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital is looking for an energetic and compassionate team member to assist our veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments. The veterinary technician assistant's role is to aid the technicians and doctors in their day-to-day tasks. This includes escorting clients to the exam rooms, disinfecting (using COVID cleaning protocols) between appointments, assisting with various technician appointments, assisting the doctors with their appointments, etc. This is the perfect job for someone new to veterinary medicine and looking for some experience and training!
Some on the job training includes, but not limited to:
Basic Animal Restraint
Nail trims
Ear Cleanings
Anal Gland Expression
Radiograph positioning
Assisting with blood draws & vaccinations
Learning how to do basic blood draws
Animal Husbandry
Hospital Cleaning Protocols
Walking patients/boarders
Caring for medical boarders
Laundry

Salary: Starting at $16-$17: based on experience.
Pay Frequency: Bi Weekly
Schedule: Shifts consist of AM, PM & Weekends. We do our best to honor shift preferences in order to maintain a good work life balance.
Educational Requirements & Skills Needed
Experience:
- No experience required, just a passion for animals.
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years old
