GLO Resources is seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead and oversee a large federal deep foundation construction project for the Louisiana Army Corps of Engineers located in Laplace, LA.
The rate of pay is depending upon experience between $120k-$130k with per diem if non-local. The schedule is working Monday to Friday with occasional overtime depending on project needs.
Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the project from inception to completion while adhering to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with federal regulations. This role requires a strong leader with deep experience in managing large-scale construction projects and a keen understanding of government contracting requirements.
Scope of Work: The Project's scope of work consists of clearing and grubbing; floodwall and stop log construction, placement of steel sheet piling, H-piling, pipe piles, precast/prestressed concrete piles, geotextile, geogrid, grouted riprap, prestressed concrete piles; installation of metal ladders, stairs, catwalk, and railings: installation of vertical wick drains and horizontal strip drains; stone and bedding construction, slide gates and hoist, precast concrete bridge, steel vehicular swing type flood gate, excavation, and embankment placement; miscellaneous metalwork, painting, turf establishment; chain link fencing, surfacing, structural excavation and backfill, electrical work, construction of temporary retaining structures and dewatering; and other related incidental work.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a major deep foundation construction project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual obligations.
- Collaborate closely with the Louisiana Army Corps of Engineers, federal agencies, and other key team members to ensure all project requirements are met.
- Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resources to optimize efficiency and project outcomes.
- Oversee all aspects of site management, including coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement proactive solutions to mitigate potential issues.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards specific to federal construction projects.
- Prepare and submit detailed progress reports, maintaining transparent and effective communication.
- Ensure compliance with federal government contracting guidelines, particularly with respect to reporting, procurement, and financial management.
- Drive project success through leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Manage and provide all billing related information and documentation to the accounting team as billing is applicable, at a minimum of once a month.
- Participate in on site, and remote ,job progress meetings with internal company employees as well as USACE representatives for the project.
- Professionally represent the company for all on site interactions.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in project management, specifically in large federal construction projects and deep foundation work.
- Proven experience managing projects with budgets of $50M , ideally for government agencies such as the Army Corps of Engineers.
- Strong knowledge of federal contracting regulations, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation).
- Expertise in project management software and tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple department's involvement, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred.
