What you will do:
Ferroglobe USA Bridgeport has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, compressed air, and pneumatic systems and components, and welding. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation
- Troubleshoot difficult equipment issues using blueprints, equipment manuals and internet resources while utilizing an advanced skill set in most of the following areas: pneumatics, PLC, machinery, hydraulics, welding, and electrical
- Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
- Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown in line with OSHA requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Follow all plant safety rules and regulations, wear PPE as required per procedures
- Participating in all safety and regulatory training needed to fulfill the duties of the position
- Flexible to work a variable schedule based upon the needs of the company. Conditions and times are dependent on equipment repair needs.

- Basic electrical & mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools effectively.

- Physically fit and able to perform tasks requiring moderate physical exertion.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Working Environment:

- Ability to lift 50lbs, Floor to waist, Waist to shoulder. Overhead, Carry 20 feet
- Wears proper PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
