What are the responsibilities and job description for the MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I position at Glock?
General Purpose:
Supports Manufacturing by performing preventative maintenance on manufacturing machines and related equipment
Shift(s)
2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM) Monday through Friday
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Daily inspect and top off coolant and other fluids in machinery. Test and document coolant concentration.
Daily perform scheduled maintenance activities on all machines, per assigned documentation.
Change coolant and other fluids in machinery as needed; clean machines using appropriate tools and equipment.
Weekly inspect wash water in BUPI machines, exchange as required and clean basins. Measures correct chemical mix concentration and document results.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks and complete all required documentation.
Clean and replace air filters on machinery and related equipment at planned intervals.
Support Team Lead and Maintenance Technicians as requested.
Promptly document and report observed problems with equipment to Manufacturing Manager.
Complete assigned maintenance work orders and documentation in a timely manner
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
Must be a self-starter and able to manage time effectively.
Must be punctual and present in attendance on a regular basis, available to work overtime and some weekends.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED is required
One year of in-house training on above mentioned equipment; or two years of experience and/or maintenance education on manufacturing machine maintenance including inspections, cleanings, parts replacements, and minor repairs.
Experience with common mechanical hand tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches
Experience with CMMS system or similar computer based planning system
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience using Microsoft Office; ex. Word and Excel
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid GA DL, clean DMVR in order to qualify for company vehicle insurance

Work with and around oils, coolants, and cleaning solutions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, lifting, pushing, pulling, laying, and reaching overhead while manipulating objects weighing up to 60 lbs. Work requires walking in excess of 10,000 steps per day, standing and sitting for long periods of time. Personal safety protective equipment is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, oil, grease, fumes, smoke and unpleasant odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
