The Engineer will be responsible for design from concept to production, release, and launch of components and sub-systems for vehicle programs. This individual will be depended on to build strong partnerships with internal team members responsible for design, validation, procurement, and manufacturing of the vehicle.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 2D drawing creation
- Develop and mature assigned components from concept through production
- Establish and achieve targets for cost, investment, weight, performance, and quality
- Coordinate engineering designs and systems with purchasing, suppliers, testing team, manufacturing team, other vehicle subsystems and functions
- Responsible for quality of components and/or subsystem 3D CAD and technical drawings
- Analyze and resolve complex problems with moderate to minimal guidance.
- Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
- Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs.
- Travel to client sites required.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree and 3 years industry experience developing automotive interior components required
- Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
- Experience developing automotive interior trim components like Roof lining, Pillar trims, lower cabin, ducts or SUV Cargo trims etc.
- 3 years experience using CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and 2D drafting (CATIA V6 preferred)
- Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) for hard trim (plastics) and/or soft trim required
- Ability to interpret CAE results and integrate recommendations into product designs
- The ability to work effectively in a cross functional group setting, including essential technical guidance to support Senior Management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS office
