Who We Are
Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

You take responsibility for leading the maintenance and operation of the crushing plant while fostering a collaborative team environment. With strong technical and operational skills, you ensure smooth day-to-day operations and efficient maintenance of the department. You are an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, and you prioritize clear communication and problem-solving. You hold yourself to high standards, with a strong work ethic and a proactive approach. Self-motivated and capable of working independently, you consistently drive projects forward to meet and exceed production targets.
This is a safety sensitive position. As the Crusher Maintenance General Foreman you report to the Crusher Manager.
What You Do
- Oversee the daily maintenance and operation of the crushing and screening plant, as well as the conveying and stacking systems.
- Manage and report all plant maintenance activities, including planning jobs, scheduling, ordering parts and materials, and coordinating with contractors when necessary.
- Lead shutdowns and major maintenance projects, working with other departments to minimize equipment downtime.
- Assist with maintaining the Merrill-Crowe plant.
- Provide guidance and direction to maintenance supervisors and staff in their daily tasks, including handling any personnel issues.
- Ensure consistent implementation of company procedures, policies, regulations, and laws, including those that apply to contractors.
- Plan and execute conveyor and cell relocations.
- Assign and coordinate daily maintenance tasks to meet production goals.
- Confirm that pre-operation checks are completed and safety-critical issues are addressed promptly.
- Ensure staff follow SLAM and other safety protocols before and during tasks. Lead weekly safety meetings and daily tailgate talks, addressing concerns and updating the team with outcomes.
- Identify and schedule necessary maintenance activities.
- Ensure inspections are completed (including required paperwork), and provide planners with timely information to prioritize jobs.
- Ensure the crusher areas operate safely during shifts, with regular safety training and meetings to aim for zero incidents.
- Foster positive and effective communication within the department.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have prior supervisory experience.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in the maintenance of crushing and screening plants, as well as conveying and stacking systems.
- Must possess the technical and operational leadership skills to oversee daily operations and maintenance of the crushing department.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- High work standards and a professional presence.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, with a proactive attitude and the ability to drive projects forward to meet production goals.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
