JOB DESCRIPTION
The maintenance technician member works under the direction of the Facilities Manager. The ideal candidate will work within the Facilities Department to respond and complete daily work orders, preventive maintenance work orders and emergency calls. The successful candidate should have a good working understanding of all aspects of maintenance including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, fire safety, and other similar tasks.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma. Prior relevant experience and kitchen equipment is preferred. He or she must be committed to the customers, reliable to his or her co-workers, and be a self-motivated, organized, and detailed individual. Fluent English speaking and written communication skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Working knowledge of refrigeration and kitchen equipment is highly preferred
- Safely repair restaurant equipment systems by using both power and hand tools
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC, refrigeration and kitchen equipment
- Respond to work orders as priority dictates and complete them with appropriate information
- Complete preventative maintenance checklists and carry out all associated repairs.
- Effectively communicate with Restaurant Managers and other staff members, both in written and verbal forms
- Utilize the maintenance work order program.
- Report all unsafe conditions to the General or Facilities Manager
- Be “On Call” after hours and weekends as scheduled.
- Follow safety procedures at all times
- Adhere to Goode Co. policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years of experience with restaurant facilities
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- High School diploma, trade school certification or equivalent required
- Must have basic hand tools
- Demonstrate strong communication service skills
- Hold or be able to obtain an EPA Universal Certification
- Drug test and background clear
- Must be able to speak English, Spanish a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Capable of performing the physical requirements of stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders and ability to lift or move heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
- Operate all equipment essential to job functions including hand tools, power tools and lift equipment
