Position Duties:
1. Conduct a daily meeting at start of the shift to review:
a. previous day results, highlighting any problems or achievements
b. shift targets, communicate quality issues and quality alert
c. recent continuous improvements implemented
d. concerns from Team while encouraging Improvement Ideas
2. Daily manage:
a. appropriate headcount to support schedule
b. allocate members to production operation according to schedule
c. ensure standardized work methods are followed
d. equipment is functioning as required
e. all process requirements are met and normal safe practices are in place
f. correct material is in place to support production schedule
g. all first and last off quality checks are performed using approved methods and tools
h. routine change-over and set up activities according to production schedule
i. assist investigation and resolution of off standard quality conditions
j. make sure any necessary appropriate containment actions are in place
k. advise Quality and/or Supervisor of any off-standard conditions in any of the above
3. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Proven production skills in the work area for which they will be the Team Leader at a minimum. Proven skills in multiple work areas is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
1. Demonstrated performance to work instruction at required rate in work area(s)
2. Ability to use required equipment and systems at work station
3. Knowledge that all process requirements are met and normal safe practices are in place
4. Identifies correct material is in place to support work required
5. Ability to communicate effectively to others
6. Great working attitude and teamwork skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to lift up to thirty-five pounds.
MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to problem solve, prioritize and work well under pressure. Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
MACHINES/EQUIPMENT: Basic office and industrial equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal industrial environment.
OTHER: Ability to work effectively and professionally with organization personnel and others as required.
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, this position performs production duties and provides support in the form of direction, guidance, relief, and encouragement to personnel within the Team following the GIS business objectives and values. This position will co-ordinate activities to ensure safety standards are maintained and production, quality and scheduling requirements are met.
