This position primarily receives donated goods from customers, acts as a public representative of Goodwill's mission, and ensures that donors receive a superior donation experience. Works to support Retail & Production needs as directed by Store Manager or Manager on Duty. Works flexible hours as dictated by business needs. Maximizes value of donation goods by proper handling, sorting, and recording of inventory.

When needed, this position will be called upon to support Retail on the store floor by placing merchandise onto the sales floor, using the cash register, and supporting other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complies with established customer service guidelines
• Greeting donors with a donation receipt in hand
• Offering assistance with their donation
• Thanking them for their donation
• Inviting them to donate again
• Consistently greet donors and provide information about Goodwill's donation policy, mission, and programs
• Politely receive donated goods from customers
• Offer customers receipts and answer any customer questions about Goodwill
• Sort and label goods by category
• Carefully place goods in proper containers or equipment to expedite Production process and to avoid damage or breakage
• Log and report daily donor count and other production reports
• Communicate needed reports and information in a timely manner
• Prepare accurate bills of lading (BOL)
• Handle equipment properly to avoid damage, breakage, or personal injury
• Stack donation goods neatly and safely
• Assist drivers in loading/unloading of goods and/or equipment
• Maintain Donation site and station in a consistently neat and presentable manner
• Maintain clean housekeeping around donation area
• Perform basic arithmetical calculations including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
• Support both Retail and Production needs as required:
• Utilize the cash register system to ring up customers as required
• Provide an excellent customer service experience to all patrons and shoppers
• Help to maintain the cleanliness of the overall store facility according to brand standards
• Maintain merchandising standards throughout the sales floor including but not limited to: sizing, coloring, organizing, etc
• Sort, price, and prep Donations according to store leadership directions and prepare merchandising on the sales floor
• Place merchandise onto the sales floor, into its proper Department per Brand merchandising standards
• Work with store leadership team to reduce store shrinkage and reduce other LP concerns
• Performs Other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience in customer service and communication
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Ability to recognize recyclable materials
• Ability to recognize high value donations
• Ability to read and write legibly
• Ability to work cooperatively with others
• Able to manage time and adhere to a schedule
• Must be able to work evenings, weekend hours, and holidays
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Experience in dealing with a diverse public preferred
• Respects and has knowledge of cultures, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and age groups other than one's own

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift at minimum 35 lbs.
• Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for an extended period of time.
