General Statement Of Job Duties

The Training & Development Manager is responsible for establishing the overall talent strategy for new hires, current leaders, and employees. Will lead the design, coordination, and delivery of scalable talent development solutions to include leadership development and all employee training, coaching, and professional growth opportunities via action learning projects, e-learning (online courses, classes, training and tutorials), and classroom instruction. This position provides key recommendations and information to the HR Director from which informed management decisions will be made with the objective of creating a positive workplace experience. This position reports to the HR Director

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Participate in long-term planning and implementation of corporate-wide workplace education, training and development.
  • Provide full end-to-end talent management including needs analysis, content development, program implementation, administration, monitoring, data analysis, evaluations and vendor management.
  • Administer and provide oversight of talent management process, programs and assessment tools.
  • Administer and provide oversight of performance management process, programs and assessment tools.
  • Serve as primary HR Partner identifying and creating opportunities that help leaders and employees expand their knowledge, skills and abilities, and improve their performance.
  • Represent GoTriangle in the development of strategic, external partnerships and alliances that support local economic and workforce development.
  • Provide oversight and management of support staff, vendors and external partner relationships.
  • Support management in continually building bench-strength of leadership (and future leaders) by determining and meeting needs through talent assessment, individual development plans and succession planning.
  • Ensure training programs and initiatives enhance the delivery of business results (i.e. safety, service excellence, project management capabilities, etc.).
  • Perform special projects and other duties with excellence, on time and within budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications And Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, communications, psychology, HR or related field preferred.
  • Five years directly related and progressively responsible experience leading employee training and development programs.
  • Three years of experience as a manager or supervisor.
  • Prior HR project management experience preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate high standards of professional behavior, effective and persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to evaluate current systems, processes and related practices in an objective manner.
  • Ability to plan, develop and communicate program objectives and work independently on several priorities at once.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.
  • Advanced computer skills to include prior learning management systems administration experience preferred.

An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the above stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting operating facilities, properties, construction sites, and potential properties during which the incumbent should observe all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and use all protective clothing and devices provided.
