Position: QC Technician - 2nd shift
Location: Food Manufacturing Plant in Middlesex County
Reports to: Food Safety & Quality Supervisor
Work Hours: Monday to Thursday (6pm – 4:30am) Off: Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented QC Department Technician to support food safety and quality initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring that all QC tasks are performed in accordance with internal Food Safety & Quality standards, across various production and storage areas.
Duties
- Perform daily swabbing of production equipment to verify cleanliness, including testing and logging results.
- Complete preoperational checks on packing lines, mixers, and roasters, ensuring GMP compliance.
- Sign off on production QC paperwork, including checking best-before dates, production codes, and barcoding accuracy.
- Conduct metal detector and table weigh scale tests at specified intervals throughout production.
- Perform nitrogen testing on finished product bags and document findings.
- Inspect finished products for quality and perform regular end-of-line checks.
- Conduct allergen and gluten-free testing as needed, ensuring proper documentation.
- Inspect incoming ingredients for quality and file Certificates of Analysis upon receipt.
- Monitor and enforce GMP compliance within production areas, addressing and reporting violations.
- Place products on QC Hold if they do not meet specifications.
Skills
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in quality control methodologies and techniques
- Knowledge of GMP and FDA regulations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Good communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with colleagues
