We are looking for a hardworking and responsible Dental Assistant. The assistant must be capable of adding to the efficiency and productivity of our office on a full or part-time basis. We are a busy, well-established, family owned practice looking for our next long term team member. To be successful as our assistant, you should have a pleasant personality, be dependable and punctual, have a great work ethic, and a desire to properly care for patients in our office. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position as well.
Responsibilities
- Take and document patient dental history and updates, as well as overall health and medication history
- Assist dentist by handling supplies and instruments as requested
- Prepare tables and trays for dentist with necessary instruments and supplies
- Clean and sterilize instruments, and prepare treatment rooms as needed
- Enter all patient information into patient chart within data software, (office is digital and utilizes electronic health records via Dentrix)
- Take, expose, and mount high quality digital dental radiographs
- Move patients through appointments as scheduled
- Ensure appropriate supply of equipment and materials
- Welcome patients and work with front desk to get patients situated in the appropriate treatment room in a timely manner
- Perform any other tasks deemed necessary to aid the dental or dental hygiene providers, as well as your fellow dental assistants to foster positive flow and success of the dental clinic
Qualifications for Dental Assistant
- High school diploma or general education degree required
- Proficiency in Dentrix or Similar Dental software (Eaglesoft, Open Dental, etc.) preferred
- Radiology certification
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as dental assistant preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service attitude
- Proven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines, especially attendance policy
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.50 per hour
