Job Title: Executive Assistant to the Superintendent Location: Grand Isle Supervisory Union Reports to: Superintendent About Us: GISU is committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for students. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly organized Executive Assistant to support the Superintendent in a variety of administrative and operational tasks. This key role will serve as a vital part of the district’s leadership team, ensuring smooth communication and effective management of the Superintendent’s office. Key Responsibilities: As the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent, you will be responsible for a range of administrative duties, including but not limited to: Administrative Support: Provide high-level administrative support to the Superintendent, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence. Communication: Act as a liaison between the Superintendent’s office, school district staff, board members, parents, and external stakeholders. Draft and edit communications, including emails, reports, and presentations. Meeting Coordination: Organize and coordinate meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items. Project Management: Assist in the management of special projects and district initiatives, ensuring timelines are met and deliverables are achieved. Board Support: Prepare materials for Board of Education meetings, including agendas, reports, and presentations. Attend meetings to take minutes and follow up on action items. Event Planning: Coordinate events such as school district meetings, community events, and staff gatherings, ensuring all logistics are handled efficiently. Confidentiality & Discretion: Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost professionalism and discretion. General Office Management: Oversee general office operations for the Superintendent’s office, including managing files, documents, and supplies. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience providing executive-level administrative support, preferably in an educational setting. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders. Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Google Suite and experience with scheduling and project management tools. Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy in all aspects of work. Discretion: Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrity. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with district staff, board members, and community stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an educational setting or school district. Familiarity with the operations of a school district and/or Board of Education. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Why GISU?
