Position Summary

The mental health resources manager is a full-time position responsible for identifying mental health and substance use resources in North Texas, providing support to volunteers, collaborating with staff and volunteers to identify appropriate mental health resources for callers to the Here For Texas Mental Health Navigation Line, and assisting with administrative tasks and special projects as assigned by the associate director of mental health resources. Must be fluent in English and Spanish.


Primary Responsibilities

·  Identify mental health and substance use resources in North Texas

·  Respond in English and Spanish to incoming calls, online requests, and chats requesting mental health            resources

·  Determine caller needs for mental health and substance use services by reviewing navigation line call records and collaborating with volunteers and staff

·  Provide individuals with information and education on mental health resources in their community that are tailored to their specific needs

·  Assist the associate director of mental health resources to train and support volunteers in handling calls for the mental health navigation line, ensuring consistency in communication and active listening

·  Provide volunteer support and supervision, including organizing navigator meetings, helping to assess safety risks, and providing crisis intervention when needed

·  Attend outreach events to engage English and Spanish speaking families, community members, volunteers and mental health providers, and to promote all mental health programming for the Foundation


Essential Skills and Experience

·  Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field with a minimum of two years of field experience working with clients, providing resources, or in another role related to mental health direct patient care and/or case management

·  Substantial knowledge of mental health and substance use resources, providers, and services in North Texas, experience with crisis intervention a plus

·  Excellent interpersonal skills necessary for interaction with staff, donors, volunteers, mental health providers, and community agencies

·  A working knowledge of developmental issues across the life span, along with a deeper knowledge of normal and abnormal development of children, adolescents, and adults.

·  Commitment to agency vision, core values and mission

·  Strong organizational skills and work ethic

·  Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and database management software

·  Detail-oriented, thorough, and accurate in all work

·  In accordance with Grant Halliburton Foundation’s teamwork philosophy, demonstrated ability to assist with projects in various departments


Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to spend time seated, the dexterity to perform computer keyboard functions, the ability to stand for long periods of time, and the ability to lift 50 pounds to carry and distribute materials to the community and set up and break down program materials. The employee must have reliable transportation.


FLSA: Full-Time

Reports to: Associate Director of Mental Health Resources

Compensation: $50,000 salary

Hours: Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Hybrid position: In office Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and remote work available Thursday and Friday

About the Here For Texas Mental Health Navigation Line

The Here For Texas Mental Health Navigation Line assists individuals with finding appropriate care for mental illnesses. This no-cost service is a critical extension of HereForTexas.com, a website available in English and Spanish, featuring a searchable database of North Texas mental health providers and resources.


We train Mental Health Navigators to help callers identify appropriate resources and options in care to meet their needs, while also offering encouragement and emotional support. This information is needed not only by individuals, but also by families, schools, hospitals, employers, clergy, criminal justice departments, community agencies and mental health providers. The Navigation Line operates five days a week during normal business hours in English and Spanish via telephone, text, email, and chat. Our Mental Health Navigators are volunteers trained in case management and mental health education.
