What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic 2 position at Gravity?
The Mechanic 2 is an expert technician and is responsible for utilizing mechanical training to contribute to fleet maintenance operations to keep Gravity’s equipment on the rental “ready line.” The person in this role has working knowledge of the Company’s products and standards of quality and understands standard operating procedures at the local (branch), region and national level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with ethics, honesty, values, and integrity. Provides a position of professionalism to others.
• Operates and tests equipment to ensure it passes Gravity quality and efficiency standards.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs, such as oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services on small fleet equipment and trucks.
• Diagnoses internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
• Performs major repairs and assorted parts replacements to maintain fleet equipment using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments with minimal supervision.
• Enters work orders via fleet management system.
• Reconditions and replaces assorted parts of the heavy equipment.
• Diagnoses problem areas for any significant wear or tear on the equipment.
• Maintains work area in a clean and organized manner.
• Completes all monthly safety and equipment-related trainings.
• Any other duty, responsibility or task as assigned by the supervisor.
