Greater Oregon Behavioral Health, Inc. (GOBHI) has an immediate opening for a Corporate Compliance Officer. This key position will be based out of the employee’s home office, which will need to be located within the state of Oregon. 

The Corporate Compliance Officer (CCO) position establishes and implements an effective compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct. While the CCO is supervised by the GOBHI CEO, the position has a direct communication link and reporting responsibilities to the GOBHI Board of Directors. The position monitors and reports results of the organization’s compliance and ethics efforts provides guidance for the Board and teams on matters relating to reporting and compliance. The CCO, together with the Corporate Compliance Committee, is authorized to implement all necessary actions to ensure achievement of the objectives of an effective compliance program. The position also directs the organization’s quality assurance program and activities. 

Essential duties include:

  • Develops, initiates, maintains and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct. 
  • Manages day-to-day operation of the compliance and quality assurance programs. 
  • Develops and periodically reviews and updates Standards of Conduct to ensure continuing currency and relevance in providing guidance to management and employees.
  • Collaborates with other departments (for example, human resources, analytics, and health information management) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
  • Consults with legal counsel as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues.
  • Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
  • Develops and oversees a system for uniform handling of such violations.
  • Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues and concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
  • Drives to meetings or other GOBHI locations as needed.

Requirements

What is needed to succeed in this role:

  • Five years’ experience in compliance, quality assurance/improvement, or closely related oversight position. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Technology savy – comfortable using MS and Google Suite software products. High level of proficiency in Excel or Google sheets. 
  • Maintains good driving record and required vehicle insurance.
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in a health care related field, master degree preferred. 
  • Certified in Healthcare compliance (CHC) or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
