Our state-of-the-art facility will provide chemistry and microbiology testing services for cannabis cultivators and processors as mandated by the state of Michigan for cannabinoid potency, chemical residue, mycotoxins, residual solvents, terpenes, heavy metals, and microbial contamination. Our team is committed to delivering accurate and reliable results to our clients. As we grow, we are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Microbiologist to join our team.
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Microbiologist to perform microbial testing and analysis on cannabis products in our laboratory on our biomerieux platform’s. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting microbiological testing to assess the safety and quality of cannabis products, including the detection and identification of harmful microorganisms. The Microbiologist will collaborate with other laboratory personnel, follow standard operating procedures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform microbiological testing on cannabis samples, including the detection and enumeration of bacteria, yeast, and mold.
- Conduct microbial identification using various techniques such as PCR, DNA sequencing, and culture-based methods.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample preparation, analysis, and data recording.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Analyze test results, interpret data, and prepare comprehensive reports for clients.
- Collaborate with other laboratory personnel to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of testing.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, industry standards, and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Participate in method development, validation, and improvement initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with yadvances in microbiological testing methods and industry trends.
