We seek a Dynamic Nurse RN MDS Coordinator to Join Our Team!
We are a beautiful Skilled Nursing Community in Tacoma, WA, seeking an RN MDS Nurse to join our team. The RN MDS to perform assessments of new patients and transmit MDS report forms for billing purposes in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate the IDT in timely completion of the assessments.
- Utilize MDS Scheduler to plan and set MDS Assessment Reference Dates (ARDs).
- Communicate ARD selection for specific MDSs to IDT.
- Complete Care Area Assessments (CAAs) as required.
- Complete care plan items relevant to current MDS and attend care plan meetings as assigned.
- Monitor the overall documentation in the medical record to validate that it supports MDS coding.
- Participate in Medicare utilization management as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:
- Required: Current RN Licensure in the State of Employment
- Required: Computer aptitude with the EMR for this position
- Preferred: Two years’ experience working in a long-term care
- Preferred: Experience with Residence Assessment Instrument (RAI) process and MDS certification
- Preferred: Point Click Care (PCC) experience

Pay: $50.00 - $56.00 per hour
