WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Use modification and welding (minimum AWS 3G/4G level) skills to rework cab and other components.
• Perform welding (AWS 3G/4G) according to blueprints
• Learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete welding in the assigned area
• Fabricate components from raw stock as needed
• Read and follow detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, etc.
• Understand, and be able to articulate, the production flow of an assigned product line or area
• Self-check work and inspect prior processes
• Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Initiate process improvements
• Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues
• Solve complex problems with minimal assistance

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• AWS Certification Preferred
• Strong and consistent attention to detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task
• Must be able to pass the required welding certification test in the following AWS material sections: D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.6, and D9.1.
• Previous experience and/or certifications preferred
• Must understand AWS welding symbols
•  Must be able to set up, adjust, and maintain welding machines
• Must be able to Mig or Tig weld steel, stainless, and aluminum as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee most frequently lifts and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth 69 and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. 
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. 
• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
