Product Development Scientist - Silicone Adhesives

Our client seeks an experienced and innovative Principal Scientist to lead the development of new technologies and products in the electronic adhesives field. In this role, you will identify opportunities for technological advancements and product improvements, driving key R&D initiatives essential to our business success. You will actively share your expertise within the organization while staying up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and commercialization of new adhesive formulations and products, ensuring project milestones are met
• Identify and pursue opportunities for innovation in adhesive technologies, focusing on performance improvements and new product applications
• Oversee multiple R&D projects, ensuring timely progress and alignment with business objectives
• Manage and secure intellectual property (IP), contribute to publications, and drive the creation of the technology roadmap
• Maintain strong relationships with external customers, addressing their requests and feedback efficiently. Occasional travel (up to 10%) is required
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product development, project management, engineering, marketing, and sales, across global time zones
• Perform laboratory work in accordance with safety standards and mentor junior chemists, providing guidance and development support
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field
• 5-10 years of experience in silicone-based adhesives, sealants, thermoset materials, adhesive formulations, electronic materials, or semiconductor packaging
• Proven track record of developing new technologies, securing patents, and publishing in peer-reviewed journals
• Experience working in a chemical laboratory environment with adherence to safety protocols
