Responsibilities and requirements :
- 5 yrs experience with structural steel detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs and working drawings including necessary projections, sectional views and standard specifications
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD (2D), Autodesk Inventor (3D), and Vault
- Develop BOM’s and maintain drawing status / revision history in a fast-paced shop fabrication environment
- Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary design
- Perform basic calculations and trigonometry functions associated with area, slope (rise & run), etc. using charts and tables, as required, to complete client’s scope of work
- Apply company design standards as applicable
- Check and verify accuracy of drawings prepared by clients and client contractors
- Revise drawings and BOM consistent with engineering changes
- Assemble information and reference drawings from a variety of sources
- Continually look for product improvements and cost reductions
- Able to recognize changes in scope relative to cost and schedule impacts
- Maintain proper file management in accordance with company and industry standards
- Able interact and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other consultants
- Develop drawing transmittals as needed for IFA / IFC processes
- Develop plate nesting reports for laser table operations (Sigma Nest)
- Develop length nesting reports for saw cutting of profile materials (EJE)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree from a Technical Institution preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred
- Autodesk AutoCAD software experience required
- Autodesk Inventor software experience preferred (Solid Works accepted)
- Autodesk Vault experience preferred
- Microsoft Office / MS Teams software experience preferred
- Familiar with applying weld symbology to drawings as applicable
- Familiar with applying structural steel drawing practices as defined by industry / company standards
