Maintenance Planner Job Description
Qualifications
The Maintenance Planner's role is to improve workforce productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordinating labor, parts and materials, and equipment access. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday (Clifton and Newark locations).
Must have at least 3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Coordinator or Planner in a manufacturing environment.
Must possess CMMS expertise to plan, track labor and parts cost, and report.
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills to motivate team members.
Must be able to articulate priorities, multitask, provide clear direction, and delegate responsibilities.
Analytical skills and excellent interpersonal skills maintaining confidentiality.

Ownership of the E-Maint. CMMS system
- Work Orders
- Issue / approve Work Orders
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to schedule mechanics.
- Confirm mechanics times, inventory, etc., are inputted into the WO.
- Inventory
- Maintain inventory.
- Assign spare parts to assets.
- Purchase Orders
- Create POs for invoices.
- Assist with training mechanics.
- Adding Inventory
- Confirming hours are applied.
- Purchasing
- Create and issue POs with approval from the Maintenance Manager
- Buy parts for the department.
- Spare Parts / Inventory
- Track spare parts consumption. Order as necessary with the Manager approval.
- Determine minimum/maximum quantities of parts.
- Schedule Work
- With the assistance of the Supervisor, manage preventative, scheduled work.
- With the assistance of the Supervisor, assign daily work.
- Create Reports as required.

- Maintain KPIs Sites
- Planner will begin with Newark with the intention of doing all three sites.
- Assist with maintenance activities on Sundays/Wednesdays
- Available for On Call to help with off hour issues.
Prioritize, coordinate, and distribute all work orders effectively using eMaint.
Analyze PM calendar to ensure effective reliability.
Help verify that work orders are physically completed.
Train and promote the Maintenance staff on how to use eMaint effectively.
Contribute and promote a high-performance culture.
Identify, tag, and register (into eMaint) individual equipment and its parts.
Purchase parts and materials to ensure a continuous Maintenance work pipeline.
Obtain OEM documentation such as schematics and develop critical spare parts inventory for the Clifton Plant equipment.
Assist and interface with Engineering on CAPEX.
Assist in developing equipment SOPs and basic Operator training.
Identify facilities safety hazards, train others on LOTO program, and document.
Other duties as assign by management.
