What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Mental Health Therapist (Virtual) position at Growing Young Minds Counseling?
The Position: Pediatric Mental Health Therapist - Contractor
● Establish a positive, trusting rapport with clients and their parents.
● Provide counseling service to children ages 6 - 18 years old using creative,
movement, mindfulness modalities.
● Create individualized treatment plans according to the client’s needs.
● Meet with clients regularly to provide counseling, treatment, and adjust treatment
plans when necessary.
● Conduct ongoing assessments of the client’s progress.
● Involve and advise family members when appropriate.
● Attend required bi-weekly team meetings.
● Refer clients to outside specialists, or agencies when necessary.
● Maintain thorough records of the client’s meetings and progress.
● Follow all safety protocols, and maintain the client’s confidentiality.
● Other duties, as assigned.
Therapist Qualifications/Skills:
● Strong interpersonal skills
● Excellent communication and active listening skills
● Ability to build rapport quickly
● Detail-oriented
● Ability to communicate with compassion and empathy
● Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
● Must have a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or related field.
● Licensed with the state of Maryland. (LGPC, etc.)
● Some clinical experience.
● Must have liability insurance.
● Must enjoy working with children.
● Must have experience working with children, or a desire to work with children.

● Hours: Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 8:00pm; Saturday 11:00am - 5:00pm
