Guy & O'Neill, Inc. is Hiring a Continuous Improvement Manager Near Fredonia, WI

Essential Job Functions
  1. Evaluate manufacturing processes and make them FBCS by applying knowledge of product design, processing, tooling, and material as well as conferring with equipment vendors, soliciting observations from operators and working with Maintenance and other Engineering members.
  2. Lead the project priorities and oversee the continuous improvement coordinators.
  3. Provide support for Production to achieve line rates.
  4. Be the "owner" of our production monitoring software system. Create reports from the system to determine line sources of loss and future Kaizens. Monitor daily line communication and be a cheerleader or provide course correction as needed.
  5. Improve manufacturing efficiency, safety, and ergonomics by analyzing work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  6. Justify larger scale projects that will provide long term savings.
  7. Provide feedback to other departments on improvements via emails, chats, or postings such as One Point Lessons.
  8. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  9. Reduce changeover time on lines by utilizing SMED techniques.
  10. Identify root causes of reoccurring issues and find a means to reduce or eliminate them.
  11. Monitor our 5S program and keep track of outstanding action items.
  12. Lead High Performance Work Team activities and Kaizen events to provide process improvements.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, or Industrial or Manufacturing engineering preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years Management experience preferred.
  3. Lean Manufacturing experience.
  4. Lean Manufacturing training or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  5. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  6. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of suppliers, customers or employees of organization. Must be able to create a free-flowing line of communication with internal staff and external customers.
  7. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
