What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager position at GVH Distribution?
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to fulfill the position of General Manager!
Our ideal General Manager has in-depth knowledge of and experience with the sales process and relationship building. We’re seeking a strong leader with a track record of success who can inspire the same in others.
The starting pay for this position in Humble is $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually plus quarterly and annual bonus potential. As the annual sales volume grows and performance expectations are met and exceeded, the base compensation increases.
All team members are eligible for GVH’s unique and rewarding annual profit sharing program. Additionally, a company car, laptop, and cell phone will be provided for this position.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating and implementing plans for growth in sales, and an increase in efficiency in operations.
- Working with current and future clientele via phone, email and in store visits regarding new and existing product requests and orders.
- Coordinating efforts with the sales team to grow top line sales and margins for the branch.
- Generating tasks and procedures and delegate tasks to key people both in sales and the warehouse.
- Helping to ensure customer satisfaction concerning sales of any and all company products and/or services.
- Providing ongoing support and expertise to all reporting staff and assisting management in establishing and implementing goals and policies for a respective branch.
- Maintaining continued financial growth of the branch by the daily monitoring of financial information,including sales, expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow and current cash position.
- Working with the accounting staff at the corporate headquarters to monitor and maintain a healthy financial statement.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of Sales Management and/or General Management experience (grocery packaging experience preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration Degree preferred)
- Ability to learn how to read and understand financial statements, prepare budgets, and understand the sales and marketing process.
- Excellent customer service skills, financial knowledge, problem solving abilities, and exceptional computer knowledge are necessary as well.
