What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician/Optician position at GW Eye Associates?
We are looking for friendly and courteous individuals who are willing to work hard to make others happy in the eye care business. We can train you to perform skills that you don't already possess. The position entails assisting the doctor in and around the examination area. Some tasks include peripheral vision analysis, alignment of eye muscles, retinal photography, and reading prescriptions off of glasses. Additionally, the position would include such administrative tasks such as entering prescription details for online lab orders, checking glasses in as they arrive from the lab, and writing up new orders. Also answering incoming phone calls that the front desk can't get to.
This would be a great opportunity to get into the eyecare industry. In the past, this has lead to previous employees going on to becoming an optician, going to graduate school, getting a job in the sales industry, and even into the surgical assisting realm.
