Job Description

This part-time Recreation Leader will work with staff and others to oversee the operation of a Senior Mobile Expansion program. This position will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of community outreach efforts, programs, classes, activities, and events. Additionally, this position will interact with the public to answer questions regarding special events and programs.

Essential Duties

  • Assisting with coordination of program materials and supplies
  • Assisting with community outreach by conducting phone calls, attending community events, and helping with tabling
  • Assisting with set up of classes, programs, workshops, and other special events
  • Assisting with program operations to include loading and unloading supplies
  • Assisting with general report writing

Public Speaking Duties

  • Speaking during classes, workshops, or events
  • Assisting with community outreach by supporting tabling efforts

Other Job Requirements/Information

  • This job may require after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.

Hourly rate

Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school or GED AND
  • One year of experience with event planning, community outreach, or senior services
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.

The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation. Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the County’s values.

In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett, they include the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Solicitor, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate.
