H&R Block is Hiring a Director, Internal Communications Near Kansas City, MO

H&R Block is seeking a Director of Internal Communications -- a hard-working, creative, and strategic communicator who is passionate about proactively generating creative ideas, setting strategy, and implementing plans that build our Connected Culture, embed our Block Behaviors, and inform and inspire associates to deliver on our long-term growth and transformation strategy. Block Horizons 2025. Under the direction of the Vice President of Corporate Communications, this position will lead a team, as well as coordinate with company leadership and departments to communicate our Purpose throughout Block, building an understanding of our business through company-wide communications for 70,000 associates and franchisees, across existing and future communication channels using new and emerging technology.
As the Director of Internal Communications, you will:
 
  • Lead a team and work with senior leaders to communicate our Purpose and transformation strategy across Block, managing communication channel effectiveness
  • Partner with Block’s People and Culture department to communicate our employer brand and make Block a sought-after employer
  • Partner with the Director of Belonging to ensure all communications are representative and deliver in a way that creates an environment in which every associate feels safe to bring their authentic self to work
  • Lead and oversee internal digital platforms, tailoring communication for distinct audiences
  • Assess efficacy and lead rigorous analysis of success metrics
  • Use data to propose and test new communication solutions
  • Lead large format associate meetings
  • Support executive communication as necessary, including ownership of an internal editorial calendar
  • Prepare senior leaders for events
  • Collaborate with external communication leads on the company’s LinkedIn strategy
