Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the oversight and development of heavy civil design projects, focusing on transportation-related structures (bridges, walls, etc.).

• Coordinate with other disciplines and sub-consultants, agencies, and reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality of work.

• Manage and maintain project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope.

• Review structural engineering calculations and plans from preliminary to final design, and develop specifications, and reports.

• Lead proposal development, scope of work, and fee schedule preparation.

Qualifications:

• 10 years of structural design experience required, with at least several years working on either MassDOT or RIDOT projects.

• A PE is required in MA and/or RI.

• A BSCE is required.

• Strong written and oral communication skills are required.

• Strong commitment to client service, both internal and external, is required.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. 

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stoop, crawl, and lifting. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
