Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our assisted living facility. In this role, you will support the kitchen staff in various food preparation tasks, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Prepare meals for the residents of our 27 apartment assisted living facility.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure all food items are stored properly and prepared in a safe manner.
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of any shortages.
- Ensure timely service for resident meals.
- Participate in training sessions on food handling and safety practices as required.
- Ensure kitchen and walk in pantry maintain a clean environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in the kitchen is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and safety regulations is a plus.
- Basic culinary skills or experience in meal preparation is desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
