HALO is Hiring a Remote Senior Staff Accountant

Description

The Senior Staff Accountant will assist the Controller, General Ledger Manager, and Accounting Supervisor with financial reporting, budgeting and analysis, rebate and royalty reporting, planning, account reconciliations, and other day-to-day operational issues. Collaboratively work within the accounting team and across HALO, sales team, and clients while striving for operational effectiveness and efficiency. Take ownership of accounts and processes and train staff as needed. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrity of HALO financial reporting, including adhering to accounting policies and procedures and verifying the integrity of all processes and data 
  • Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations 
  • Review staff reports and reconciliations for accuracy
  • Maintain internal control and assist with projects and process improvement initiatives as needed
  • Perform general ledger functions as part of month end close including journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations as assigned
  • Work with acquired companies, ensuring accounts are reconciled and accurate
  • Monitor actual results of financial data against budget/forecast through monthly variance analysis as assigned
  • Handle confidential financial information and reporting 
  • Assist with year-end financial, licensing, client, and tax audits
  • Maintain due diligence processes for all acquired companies' financials
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of General Accounting Practices
  • Proficiency with a variety of accounting concepts, practices and procedures
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of PC applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and general ledger accounting software
  • Excellent communication, time management, multi-tasking, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential data
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility and ability to work well in a remote team environment

 Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related field and at least 6 years of previous accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPA or MBA preferred, but not required
