Machinist operator

Candidates with prior manufacturing skills are required. The first shift is available. Candidates must be able to work scheduled hours plus any required overtime.

The Senior level position is a direct hire and the Junior level position is temp to hire.

SCHEDULE & PAY

The hours are 6am 3pm Monday through Friday.

Sr. Machinist / Grinder pay is 70-75K.

Jr. Machinist / Grinder pay is 40-45K.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Machine Setup and Operation : Expertly set up and operate grinding machines to precision grind aerospace parts in strict adherence to blueprint specifications.
• Blueprint Interpretation : Follow blueprints, job orders, and verbal instructions with precision, ensuring product specifications such as finishes, dimensions, tolerances, and determining the proper methods of grinding components, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used.
• Wheel Dressing Mastery : Utilize appropriate dressing techniques to bring wheels to exact specifications, ensuring optimal grinding results.
• Operational Oversight : Observe overall machine operations and perform routine daily maintenance on equipment and work areas to uphold consistent performance.
• Documentation Excellence : Complete production paperwork and adhere to inspection procedures diligently, ensuring accurate recording of processes and outcomes.
• Problem Identification and Reporting : Report any operational problems or discrepancies promptly to the immediate supervisor, contributing to efficient resolutions.
• Tool and Equipment Maintenance : Maintain tools, gauges, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner, demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety and efficiency.
• Adherence to Policies : Strictly comply with company policies and procedures, with a particular emphasis on safety regulations to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.
• Continuous Improvement : Demonstrate a proactive willingness and capacity to learn additional skills, including but not limited to CNC operation, contributing to personal and professional development.

Job Qualifications :

• Proven experience as a Machinist / Grinder, specializing in at least one of the following areas : ID / OD / Surface / Jig Grinding
• Strong proficiency in blueprint interpretation and a keen eye for product specifications.
• Skillful operation in a tight tolerance environment ( / - .0005 or less).
• Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety protocols and strict adherence to company policies.
