What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN - Physical Therapy Assistant position at Hamilton Memorial Hospital District?
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant school.
- Associate of Applied Science degree.
- Current CPR certification Knowledge of general Physical Therapy practice act.
- Capable of communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of Physical Therapy policy and procedures.
Description:
- Provides patient treatments utilizing modalities of exercise, heat, cold, massage, mobilization, hydrotherapy, light therapy, electricity and patient education as established in the plan of care.
- Document the patient progress for review by other rehabilitation team members.
- Instructs patients in proper gait techniques, exercises and use of assistive devices and ADLs.
- Responsible for the personal care of the patient, environment and privacy throughout the treatment.
- Responsible for proper care of orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices.
- Completes billing procedures when necessary.
- Assists in maintaining the Rehab Department and keeping the equipment clean/orderly.
- Participates in hospital in servicing as assigned by the Rehab Director.
