ABOUT THE ROLE
At Hapag-Lloyd, we will support the further development of your skills in our culturally diverse, stimulating environment as you help us grow our customer base. As the Sales Business Development Coordinator, you will secure and develop business from the small to medium sector for the portfolio of accounts, volume, revenue, and growth and maintain and enhance our existing customer base by offering products that satisfy our customer’s needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and expand current business from a portfolio of small to medium accounts.
· Identify and quantify new small to medium accounts.
· Conduct telephone sales with portfolio and target accounts.
· In exceptional cases carry out on-site visits.
· Handle quotations based on standard terms and conditions.
· Follow up calls to gain business.
· Sell E-Biz solutions to clients.
· Monitor accounts’ performance through QlikView reports/CRM and discuss in coaching sessions.
· Ensure proper hand over to Customer Service (where applicable).
· Update and maintain account details and call information for accounts in CRM.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Associates Degree and 2 years’ work-related experience in the Maritime/Liner Shipping/Transportation industry or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
· Passion for account management and sales including identification, negotiation and issue resolution.
· Results driven and motivated to independently drive solutions that meets our customers’ expectations.
· Knowledge and understanding of shipping routings, schedules and the general practices of various countries, carriers, ports, and terminals with the ability to apply that knowledge to make effective job assignments.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to help drive positive customer engagement and performance.
· Team player that works well with others to drive success for the customer, team, and the organization.
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities, organize work, and implement action items.

· Ability to use maps, atlases, and other geographic reference materials to determine where nearest ports and terminals are to customers.
· Knowledge of the best mode of transportation for ground transport between the customer and terminals.

· Maintain trust by seeking truth and speaking it to others.
· Proficient using MS Office word processing and spreadsheet software.
· This position requires travel and work, in and outside normal working hours.
