HAPO Community Credit Union is looking for an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer to join our team in the Sunnyside area! The Mortgage Loan Officer is predominantly responsible for helping our membership with their mortgage needs. They are responsible for completing new loan application and gathering all the necessary information and documentation required for a loan decision to be made. We are seeking an individual who is ambitious, self-motivated and who strives to represent HAPO’s core commitment “Be in the Moment” and standard of service “Defy Expectations” with our members, community as well as the team they are a part of.
Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:
- Assists the Credit Union with meeting our members mortgage needs.
- Adheres to mortgage loan standards and laws.
- Generates new loan applications using customer service skills.
- Work with clients and internal support staff to ensure the timely completion of each loan while adequately providing communication to the borrower(s) throughout the process.
- Explain different types of loans and identify the varying terms.
- Expedite loan process by following up with documentation, reviewing pipeline on a regular basis, and interacting with title companies and realtors.
- Calls on our current membership for cross sale opportunities.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain products, listen to customers and effectively overcome customer objections.
- Excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Knowledge of mortgage industry; familiarity with mortgage rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to handle oneself in stressful situations.
- Strong organizational skills
Requirements:
- 2 years minimum of mortgage loan origination experience
- Must have NMLS
- Fluent in Spanish preferred
Preferred Requirements:
- Two to four year college degree with business administration/finance exposure preferred.
- 1-3 years of originating real estate loans; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Prior sales experience in the mortgage industry or previous experience in the mortgage/real estate industries preferred.
- Contacts and referrals in the real estate and mortgage industries preferred.
Schedule:
•Must be able to work 35-40 hours a week , Mon-Fri.

Starting Pay range (DOE): $20.19 - $32.00 (Average income including Base hourly Commission = $60,000.00 - $145,000.00)
