Harper Engineering Co. is looking for a dynamic, experienced Tool Maker to join our Machine Shop team. This Tool Maker will be instrumental in supporting our Machine Shop by designing, building and repairing tools and fixtures.

Job Summary
The Tool Maker performs hands on machining operations using a wide variety of manual machines to support the machine shop in production of metallic an nonmetallic parts.
Requirements
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design work holding fixtures and jigs for production in CNC and manual machining operations
- Machine tools and fixtures using manual machines such as mill, lathe, drill press.
- Repair tools, fixtures and machines
- Perform secondary operations
- Read and follow blueprints, sketches, drawings, and work instructions to fabricate products
- Inspect and measure machined workpieces to verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Keep accurate record of labor hours performed
- Follow all safety rules and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- 3 years minimum of related experience
- Familiar with an assortment of manually controlled machines
- Well developed mechanical aptitude
- Must be detailed orientated, organized, able to multitask and work in a noisy and fast paced environment
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Team player
Salary : $28 - $32
