Quality Assurance Associate
Mission
The Quality Assurance Associate role provides support to the Quality Department on internal and external quality issues and continuous improvement initiatives. This role develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering fields.
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or equivalent work experience). Prior experience in areas of quality assurance such as DOE, process control, systems performance, product evaluation, and automated testing is a plus. Ability to conduct internal and external quality audits to recognize improvement opportunities and work with stakeholders to implement. Six Sigma, ability to comprehend technical documents, and apply statistical methods to analysis is preferred.
Key Quality Assurance Associate Accountabilities
- Develops, implements, and maintains a robust Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Establishes standards and addresses conflicts between quality compliance and business objectives. This includes familiarity with Dodd-Frank Act and conflict minerals, traceability, audits, and regulations, completing documentation as required from customers.
- In collaboration with the Sales Team, Suppliers, Engineering and Operations, ensures that new and existing product builds in Value Added are assembled in accordance with approved processes and prints, optimizing production routers.
- Works with the Assembly Technicians to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
- Oversee internal and external quality audits, ensuring compliance and certification requirements are met. This includes creating audit finding reports, closing out audit findings, and determining proper corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), customer complaints, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality system (e.g. 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc).
- Leads root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process-related concerns.
- Analyzes product failures and initiates the corrective and preventive actions required to respond to customer complaints.
- Ensures timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
- Monitors supplier performance and conducts supplier audits when required.
- Develops and conducts training as required to build quality awareness.
- Provides exceptional product and customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Consistently performs all responsibilities, essential functions and tasks to Company expectations, quality standards and profitability goals.
- Communicates in person, over the phone, email, and internet or in writing in a positive, professional and helpful manner.
- Adheres to all safety rules and reports questionable conditions to leadership.
- Applies and recommends Lean practices.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Follows all quality processes and procedures as established by Hartfiel Automation.
- Operates within the intended framework of Hartfiel Automation’s mission, values, and vision statements.
- Office clerical work, sitting or standing at a desk and able to lift 25 pounds infrequently.
