Job Summary:
Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education. The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role.

- Non-clinical patient result callbacks
- Prior authorizations
- Transportation facilitation
Conducts point of care testing including quality control & documentation including but not limited to:
Hemoglobin A1C
- Hemoglobin POCT
Performs administrative duties and covers front desk based on business needs.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below.
- In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.
- Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office. EPIC EMR experience, preferred.
- Certified BLS to be obtained through employment provided RQI training. To be completed 3 months (90) days of hire or job transfer.
- All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.
Must be capable and willing to cover administrative front office staff depending on the department's needs: scheduling appointments, answering telephones, signing in and discharging patients, copying and faxing
- Knowledge of computer systems: Microsoft Office, IDX, Allscripts a plus.
- This position is located within a busy outpatient ambulatory care clinic setting. Must be able to multitask, possess outstanding communication and follow up skills
