What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chair of Pediatrics Department position at Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians?
Mount Auburn Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital and part of Beth Israel Lahey Health network serving the greater Cambridge, Massachusetts area, is seeking a Chair to lead the Department of Pediatrics including a Level IIB nursery and Level 1 nursery. Mount Auburn Hospital (MAH) cares for a diverse mix of suburban and urban patients and is characterized by an exceptional and collegial working environment.

At MAH, all of our perinatal services, including the Level 1 and IIB nurseries, Labor & Delivery, and post-partum are located on a single floor, allowing for smooth transitions of care and access for support persons. The newly-renovated Level IIB Nursery offers individual patient rooms and the opportunity for a parent to sleep at the bedside. Mount Auburn welcomed more than 2300 newborns this past year.
The Chair will oversee all clinical and administrative functions of the Pediatrics Department and is responsible for strategic leadership, clinical and quality oversight, department management, and teaching efforts. The Chair will continue to foster an environment of collaborative and innovative care in the Department, staffed by Physicians, Certified Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses.
The selected physician will be eligible to receive a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School commensurate with experience and qualifications.
