What are the responsibilities and job description for the Provider position at Hawaii Healthcare Administration and Associates?
Our Practice is a professional medical clinic that provides healthcare services to Central Oahu, neighboring communities, and telehealth services to the Mainland United States according to applicable laws and regulations. Services include but are not limited to health promotion/health prevention/health maintenance activities to include general primary health care; mental health, psychosocial, and family education and counseling; drug and alcohol prevention education, identification of those in need of community social services; sexuality education and counseling, gynecological exams and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases; AIDS education and counseling; nutrition education and weight reduction; health education; routine physical exams (including sports and DOT physicals); diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses; referrals for illnesses and injuries not suitable for treatment in the clinic; pregnancy testing, early periodic screening and developmental testing; case management and support services for preventing complications for those with chronic health problems and special needs.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient records.
- Performs initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations
- Examines patients, including discussing medical history and symptoms.
- Communicating test results and prognoses to patients and their families.
- Advises patients regarding prescriptions and treatment plans.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, including x-rays, blood work, and scans.
- Refers patients to specialists if necessary and analyzes medical records and reports.
- Updates patient charts and uploads to Electronic Health Record (EHR) software.
- Works with a team of Providers to provide quality patient care.
- Follows all federal, state, and nursing guidelines, regulations, and standards.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday: Evening Shift
- Saturday-Sunday: Day Shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Wahiawā, HI 96786: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Nurse Practitioner Education and Experience Requirements:
- Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licenses in the state.
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty is preferred.
- National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited agency.
- Master’s in Nursing required, Doctorate of Nursing preferred.
- Two or more years of clinical experience as a nursing practitioner at a physician practice or in a hospital with a related specialty is strongly preferred.
Education:
- Master’s in Nursing required, Doctorate of Nursing preferred.
Experience:
- Two or more years of clinical experience as a nursing practitioner at a physician practice or in a hospital with a related specialty is strongly preferred.
License/Certification:
- Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licenses in the state.
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty is preferred.
- National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited agency. (Required)
