JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Asphalt Plant Loader Operator position is responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient operation of the asphalt plant. This position includes maintaining aggregate stockpiles, feeding the plant with necessary materials, and performing general maintenance tasks.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, and other machinery to feed the asphalt plant with aggregates and RAP (Recycled Asphalt Pavement).
- Maintain aggregate stockpiles to ensure proper material flow and quality.
- Assist in loading hauling trucks with materials as needed.
- Conduct general labor tasks, including shoveling, cleaning, routine maintenance on heavy equipment, and loading/unloading materials.
- Monitor plant equipment to ensure efficient and consistent operations.
- Assist the Plant Operator and Manager in coordinating materials and tasks.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 1-3 years of experience operating heavy equipment (loaders, skid loaders, and man lifts).
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, as required.
- Be able to safely use and operate hand and power tools. Experience in record keeping and reports.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Heavy equipment qualifications
- Safety qualifications
- Welding experience
- Experience with asphalt plant operations or maintenance is highly desirable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Climb and maintain balance on scaffold or walkway
- See well (either naturally or with correction)

- Reach for, handle and grasp wires and hand tools
- Bend, crouch and work in small spaces
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds
- Be comfortable working at various heights
- Able to work in tight quarters
Environment is exclusively outdoors; thus, the job often involves all weather extremes. Work requires alert individuals with balance and physical strength. Workers must be able to lift up to 100 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds on a constant basis.
