About the Role

The EHS Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs within the organization. This role ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and implements effective EHS practices. The EHS Manager will enforce policies and provide leadership to maintain a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

This role involves strategic collaboration with various departments to integrate EHS considerations into business operations and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance. The EHS Manager will work closely with the Sustainability & EHS Director on strategic Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives and will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day EHS activities.

You will…

  • Ensure that the EHS management systems comply with ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and ISO 45001.

  • Ensure compliance with EHS laws, regulations, and environmental approval terms while implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance EHS management.

  • Identify opportunities for improving EHS performance and operational efficiency.

  • Develop and implement EHS programs, including regular reviews to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

  • Conduct internal audits and inspections to identify EHS risks and non-compliance issues.

  • Develop corrective action plans for audit findings and track their implementation; address corrective and preventive actions based on investigation findings.

  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels, promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

  • Maintain records of EHS activities, including training, inspections, audits, and incidents.

  • Establish effective processes for the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses, including documentation and reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.

  • Manage external regulatory inspections and audits while leading investigations involving serious incidents and facilitate the use of safety analysis tools and methods

  • Support site efforts to build a safe work culture, partnering closely with site leadership, management staff, and the EHS organization to reduce incidents and minimize operational risk.

  • Provide oversight of the site emergency preparedness and planning process.

  • Conduct EHS risk assessments for new equipment, processes, and projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, reduce injury potential, and minimize environmental impacts.

  • Offer EHS guidance and support for project planning, operational changes, and new initiatives.

You have…

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification is preferred.

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in EHS management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Extensive knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate employees.

  • Proficiency in EHS management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • The ability to collaborate effectively with all departments, coordinating efforts and communicating clearly with all stakeholders.

  • An ambitious, self-motivated, and organized personality.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in both English and Danish (verbal and written).
